Sundown Inc. is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries (LDWF).
We are looking for private landowners in Lafayette Parish with 5+ wooded acres, away from busy highways, who do not allow hunting, trapping, or poison on their property.
By joining our Partnership Program, you allow us to do a site visit and, if approved, use your land as a safe, legal soft-release site for raccoons, opossums, and other rehabilitated wildlife under Sundown Inc. permits. All rabies vector species (raccoons & skunks) are released per strict LDWF guidelines. You will never be asked to feed, tame, or handle the animals.
Licensed rehabilitators conduct all releases under LDWF regulations. Partners agree not to feed, approach, or attempt to contain released wildlife as pets.
Once we release them onto your property, they will most likely disappear into the shadows, and chances are you may never spot them again.
After a couple of months, they will probably move on to another property and start their own families. A job well done. Your partnership in this venture is very important and is a vital element in their survival, and we appreciate those who help make this possible.
